Six Dongguan Projects Receive One Hundred Inspection Feedbacks from Experts; Local Competent Authority Promises to Take Rectification

Recently, an inspection group of the National Two-year Action Program on Project Quality Control completed its task in Guangdong. In the feedback meeting, the inspection experts made comments against six randomly-selected projects under construction in Dongguan and114 written opinions were raised.The responsible person from the Dongguan Municipal Bureau of Housing and Urban-rural Development promised in the meeting to carry out proper rectification and give impetus to project quality administration and control.

It was known that the inspection group spent four days on the sampling inspection of six projects under construction in Dongguan, including one public building project and five residential building projects. Through the reference to relevant information of the owner, construction unit and supervision unit, project site sampling inspection and project quality inspection, a total of1,286 items were inspected, including 282 construction market items and 1,004 quality safety items. For the problems that were found, 114 written opinions were proposed by the inspection experts, including 21 construction market related opinions and 93 quality safety related opinions. Further, theProposal forSupervision and Law Enforcement of Construction Project Quality SafetyandProposal for Supervision and Law Enforcement of Construction Marketwere issued by the inspection group to items with serious problems.

Zeng Xianxin, the leader of the second inspection group of the Two-year Activity and deputy director of the Department of Quality Safety Supervision,the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, stressed in his summary speech that the quality safety work was tough but important. He required the inspected units to make proper rectification and learn experience and lessons from such rectification to remove hidden hazards. And the opinions and suggestions proposed by the inspection experts must be highly valued and proper measures truly implemented. Further, competent authorities were required to shift the thoughts actively to push forward the Two-year Activity all round and ensure the continuously stable safety production in construction.

The responsible person from the Dongguan Municipal Bureau of Housing and Urban-rural Development expressed that, with the great efforts taken by the inspection experts, certain underlying problems and management loopholes had been discovered, some of which were really shocking. The local competent authority and the inspected units would carry out proper rectification by following the requirements of the inspection group. Moreover, by virtue of such rectification, their project quality control is expected to reach a new level.
